What’s your favorite day of the week? For us, it’s Friday, and when you live in Alpharetta, you can’t resist painting the down red. Here are our top recommendations for Friday night-outs in Alpharetta. Enjoy and don’t forget to take pictures!
- The Velvet Note
4075 Old Milton Parkway
One of Atlanta’s most revered jazz clubs is finally in Alpharetta! The Velvet Note is a renowned acoustic jazz venue, and with a branch opened in Alpharetta, your Friday nights just got more flavorful.
The Velvet Note experience is all about great live jazz performed in a comfortable and intimate setting. Musicians here will play anything from classic jazz standards by legendaries such as John Coltrane to interesting jazz renditions of today’s pop and rock songs.
Because the joint only has 40 seats or so, reservations are a must. You can make a reservation (and check their calendar) via their official website.
- Topgolf Alpharetta
10900 Westside Parkway
If you’re looking to unwind after a pretty stressful day at work with your colleagues, check out Topgolf along Westside Parkway and unleash your competitive side. Topgolf is open until 1 in the morning every Friday and Saturday, which means you and your friends can play (and party) to all of your heart’s content.
Topgolf has great amenities, including private event spaces, over a hundred climate-controlled hitting bays, and a full-service bar and restaurant. You can also update your friends who didn’t make the outing by constantly updating your Instagram or Snapchat, thanks to Topgolf’s free Wi-Fi.

- Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou
52B N. Main Street (behind Mitties Cafe)
Friday is the perfect day to treat yourself to a well-prepared spread of authentic Louisiana Bayou cuisine. And the perfect place in Alpharetta for that is Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou. Located in historic downtown Alpharetta, Flatlands serves bayou favorites such as alligator bites, catfish pontchartrain, gumbo, and jambalaya. And by the way, Flatlands also has an excellent drinks list, complete with beer, wine, and whiskey.
Flatlands is only open until 10 in the evening every Friday, so make this the first-stop (or pre-game) of your night out. You can learn more about Flatlands here.
- House on Horror Hill
1650 Georgia 9
If you want your Friday night take a spookier turn, a visit to the House on Horror Hill is a must. It’s the oldest horror house in Georgia, with operations starting in the 1970s. It’s a little old and it might not do the trick for you, but it’s a local institution that can make your October and November Friday nights a bit more exciting, so add this to your stop!
For more information about House on Horror Hill, visit their official website here. You’ll find everything you know, including operating hours, ticket prices, and directions to the venue.
With its simple interiors, E.M.BOP might not be your first choice for a Friday night-out. But their specialty (Korean barbecue!) and discount on cocktails every Friday and Saturday nights endear E.M.BOP to plenty of locals. It’s a great pre-game stop, and their selection of authentic Korean barbecues will provide fuel that’s more than enough for a night of partying in Alpharetta.
